Where is Aconcagua

MOUNT ACONCAGUA IS THE HIGHEST POINT OF SOUTH AMERICA AND ON THE WESTERN HEMISPHERE, ALSO ONE OF THE SEVEN SUMMITS . IT IS 6961 METERS (22,834 FEET) TALL AND LOCATED IN THE ANDES MOUNTAIN RANGE, BUT ITS PEAK IS IN ARGENTINA.

Aconcagua, also known as the "Stone Sentinel“, is in the Mendoza Province in western Argentina, not far from the Chile border. It is 70 miles away from the capital city of Mendoza and very near to San Juan Province. Aconcagua is part of protected natural area in the Andes, the Aconcagua Provincial Park.

The mountain has  many glaciers and the largest one is the Ventisquero Horcones Inferior, about 6.2 feet long.
