the eiger is part of the bernese alps, in the bernese oberland in switzerland, just north of the border with valais.
This impressive, 3,967 m (13,015 ft) high mountain is the easternmost peak of the ridge that crosses Mönch to the Jungfrau, and it is one of the most recognizable sights in the Swiss Alps.
