MISSOURI MOUNTAIN IS 4290 METERS (14,074 FT) TALL, MAKING IT ONE OF THE 96 14ERS IN THE U.S., AND ONE OF THE 58 14ERS IN COLORADO. THIS MOUNTAIN SUMMIT IS LOCATED IN THE COLLEGIATE PEAKS OF THE SAWATCH RANGE OF THE ROCKY MOUNTAINS. IT IS A NORTH AMERICAN MOUNTAIN, NEAR THE TOWN OF BUENA VISTA IN CHAFFEE COUNTY.
The standard and most popular route is 11 miles long, it’s across the Northwest Ridge from the Missouri Gulch Trail. Mountaineers call it a wonderful hike with incredible views. The mountain offers many opportunities for technical climbing in the Sawatch Range.
