MOUNT HOOD IS A PART OF THE CASCADE RANGE OR THE CASCADES THAT SPAN MORE THAN 1,100 FROM MOUNT LASEN IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA, THROUGH OREGON AND WASHINGTON TO THE MOUTH OF THE FRASER RIVER IN THE SOUTH OF BRITISH COLUMBIA

Mount Hood, 3426m high, located about 80 km east of Portland, Oregon, is one of the most climbed glaciated peaks in North America. With its last eruption in 1907 it is now considered a dormant volcano.
