The first guide to Colorado 14ers was compiled in 1925 by John L Jerome Hart. Named ‘Fourteen Thousand Feet’ it was reprinted many times and came to be seen as the most comprehensive and reliable guide up until a new guide by Ray Phillips was created in 1967.
- If you are looking for outdoor adventure; day hikes, long-distance hiking or climbing the mountains of Colorado provide a perfect theatre for your dreams and a stunning mountain wilderness.
- Wherever possible the links to hiking guides, classics or general guides sould lead to pages giving the option of Hardcover / Paperback / Kindle Edition.
Phillips' work superceded Hart’s book with a much clearer collection of specific routes up the mountains. We are now blessed with many more detailed guides of hikes and climbs in the Colorado 14ers which have grown to be hugely popular and sought after adventures for hiker, and climbers alike.
