GEORGIA (US STATE) IS THE HOME TO SEVERAL MOUNTAINS WITH MORE THAN 20 PEAKS RISING OVER 1,200M (4,000FT) ABOVE SEA LEVEL. BRASSTOWN BALD – THE HIGHEST OF THEM ALL – OFFERS SOME STUNNING VIEWS AND POPULAR HIKING TRAILS.

Brasstown Bald (also known as Enotah) is right in the heart of Southern Appalachian Mountain chain, just a short drive from North Carolina and Atlanta. It is 1,458m (4,784 ft) high which makes it the highest mountain in the state of Georgia.

Brasstown Bald trail (800m) is the shortest and easiest way to the top, but there are also longer routes available, like Jacks Knob trail (5km) and the longest one - Arkaquah (18km). which starts at the Track Rock archaeological area.

The summit offers incredible 360 degree views of the surrounding area, and if there are no clouds you can see four states: Georgia, North Carolina, Tennessee and South Carolina.  On not so bright days, it offers stunning views of the surrounding  mountains and foggy valleys.

The trails are open all year round, but the best time to visit is late autumn or early winter. If you want to climb it in the winter, watch out for snowstorms, mostly in January or February.
