The flag of Gilgit-Baltistan

K2 straddles the border of Pakistan and China, the highest point of the Karakoram Mountain Range.

On the former side it is in the Gilgit-Baltistan region and in the latter it resides in the Taxkorgan Tajik Autonomous county ofXinjiang. The world’s second highest mountain stands at 8611 metres (28,251 ft), the highest point in both Pakistan and neighbouring Xinjiang.
