I had an idea to write this Kind of post on a weekly basis, not as some sort of happy echo-chamber - there should be no hiding from the problems of the world. I was thinking more as a force for positivity; a way of highlighting some inspiring or interesting things I have noticed in the last 7 days.
So here goes. From reducing single use plastic to the beauty of bird beaks, here are 5 amazing things that happened this week.
1) Wetherspoons reduces plastic
Wetherspoons is ditching plastic straws and will be replacing "where necessary, with eco-friendly alternatives". Let's hope many more will follow suit.

2) Seven Steps to Improve Your Mental Health Starting Now
This week I came across this great article, which I have already shared on social media this week. Bring your a-game to your life, relationships and work with the help of these tips from Bella Zanesco.

3) DailyVee #292: Die on your own Sword
Gary Vernaychuk may well be known to you and his output is phenomenal. This is not the best video he has ever made but I love the message in its title.
It is often worth watching what he has to say as the camera follows him around in a seemingly phrenetic life. In this case it is better to "die on your own sword ... if you're gonna lose, it's much more fun to lose based on what you thought".
4) I discovered a "cross sea"
Okay, I didn't but I had never seen or heard of the phenomenon until I saw this tweet:
This is called a 'Cross Sea' and occurs when two separate wave patterns, travelling in different directions, meet at oblique angles. pic.twitter.com/Bo8jrv9LB8

5) The Wonderful World of Bird Beaks
I cam across this interesting little introduction to the weird and wonderful world of birds beaks and bills. Isn't evolution great!
