MOUNT MANSFIELD IS THE HIGHEST MOUNTAIN IN THE US STATE OF VERMONT STANDING AT 1339 M (4393 FT) ABOVE SEA LEVEL. IT IS LOCATED IN MOUNT MANSFIELD STATE FOREST, AND IS PART OF THE GREEN MOUNTAINS.

Mount Mansfield has a very distinctive shape repeating the outlines of a prolonged human face when viewed from the eastern side. Indeed, the “nose” is the highest point of the mountain with the rest of the “face” looking upwards.

Mount Mansfield’s summit is home to unique alpine tundra preserved from Ice Ages. This makes the mountain and its surrounding territories very popular among locals for recreational activities.

There is a large ski resort, as well as numerous hiking and cross-country ski trails, some of which run along rather steep cliffs and rocks, and other natural hazards. The variety of hiking routes offers a great choice for climbers of any age and experience. No special skills or equipment is required to ascend the peak.
