Mount Kilimanjaro is situated in the Kilimanjaro Region in (you guessed it) Kilimanjaro National Park in the east African country of Tanzania, officially known as the United Republic of Tanzania.

Its three volcanic peaks of Kibo, Mawenzi and Shira are now dormant. The highest of the peaks; Uhuru peak on Kibo, stands at 5895 metres (19,341 ft) above sea level as the highest point in Africa and one of the seven summits.
